To the thousands of women and men from all over Italy, have joined with their support and their participation in the mobilization of Vicenza against the construction of new U.S. base, we contribute to our project to purchase land for the Presidio No Dal Molin. We
behind more than two years of struggle, actions and initiatives, all aimed at one goal: to stop the construction of new military base. All this has so far been possible thanks to the efforts of hundreds of women and men who have united their dreams, hopes and ideals in a single place to meet, debate and socializing: the Presidio Permanente from January 16, 2007 which is the symbol of a fight common.
Now this place, symbol and reference point for all those who, in Vicenza and elsewhere, are involved in defending the common good and peace, must be strengthened, going from job insecurity experienced to date.
The period ahead is crucial to block the new U.S. base, and the risk of not having a physical location for the Presidio would create difficulties for the struggle that we are conducting more than two years, making it weaker. The stakes are too high then, economic el'autosostegno of Vicenza, which allowed the Presidium of stubbornly continue to exist today is no longer enough: we need everyone. The intention
is to buy, all together, a plot of land adjacent to the Dal Molin to cause the Presidio to take root and become permanent. To do this, in addition to the usual determination and a small streak of madness, are substantial sums: this is why we appeal to all and all, in Italy and abroad, to help us helping with the purchase of one or more tranches of 100 € for the new Presidio or, alternatively, becoming "active supporter" by paying 50 Euro (25 Euro for students and temporary workers).
