"Bromojodicherie tolmezzine 1914-17
Tumeç or the people of the Great War in the drawings and caricatures of Luigi De Giudici "
One could say that" Bromojodicherie tolmezzine "is the son of" People of Tumieç "but which are not continued, because I think it is less beautiful than the last.
If the title is a bit 'tight, the subtitle explains the contents thoroughly, in the book is always telling the people of Tumieç , but during the First World War and through drawings and caricatures that the Futurist painter Luigi De Giudici realized starting from 1914 to stall in '17, after the defeat of Kobarid. The painter, who lived in Tolmezzo 1910 to 1920, chose the hotel as an observation that Rome has always represented the very heart of the city. The precious material, kept in a great album titled Bromojodicherie tolmezzine , I was made available by Federico Aita, who was the owner of the premises, and that after reading "People of Tumieç " he told me that it would cooperate willingly, but alas the book was already published. After seeing those 245 works, including caricatures and drawings, pasted on large sheets blacks, I was so fascinated that he decided to make the subject of this book.
of that painter, the protagonist of avant-garde futurist, who had first exposed to exhibitions at Ca 'Pesaro in Venice had gone missing, in fact, his works have reappeared in exhibitions only since 1999. Author of the recovery work of this painter who was the son Angelo, was surprised to see this collection of drawings referred s'ignorava existence, was very helpful both in supplying the news about his father in making arrangement works for the exhibition that was held in conjunction with the release of the book.
De Giudici, with drawings made from 1914 to 1917 under the "outbreak" of the hotel in Rome, has left us a rare insight into a community overwhelmed by the wind of what was called the Great War. He represented graphically is the city's residents that some of the many military using the paper he had on hand at the time: the drawing sheet, to the calendar page of the newspaper account.
The book begins with a biography on the artist and the reproduction of a dozen of his paintings, to get some of my thoughts and impressions of cartoons and drawings reflecting in particular on the cover.
To put all the characters portrayed in the climate of the time I tried to create a narrative that embraces the various aspects that characterized this period, starting from the social, before moving to the popular religion, the war that affected Tolmezzo and its people whose memories are in the final part of the space volume. There is a large chapter devoted to the Municipality, made patiently traced through documents in municipal archives by Roberto Muner.
volume of about two hundred pages, which are very nice for the graphics, is published by the Printing Andrea Moro and is enriched by an important iconography with 180 drawings and caricatures and about 80 photographs, some from slabs of 'Stock Molinari, other, more properly a war, from the archive General Adriano Gransinigh, alpine and student of history who worked for the part, and finally some original postcards of the time.
I must say I was very pleased that Professor. Umberto Sereni, Professor of Modern History at the University of Udine, has agreed to do the foreword of the book that came out the first day of August 2005.
The cover price is 30 € and is available at the print shop or Andrea Moro (E-mail: comm@tipografiamoroandrea.it ) or at the Library "The court of the Book of Tolmezzo ( http:/ / www.cortelibro.com/ ; E-mail: tempolibro@alice.it ).
In collaboration with the Municipality of Tolmezzo, from July 30 to August 22, 2005, at the palace Frisacco, took the painting exhibition with works by Luigi De Giudici.
To give an idea of \u200b\u200bthe iconographic part, I added some pictures, cartoons and photos that I have chosen between about 280 in the book.

Captions: The first caricature refers to a fan of Bacchus, the second in January Lequio Clement, the third in a newspaper made a French anarchist, the fourth call it "In the name of the command" with the officer in an apparent relaxation paunchy and orderly, a small, marching. I continue with the caricature of the Write, two photographs: one of a aereo caduto al campo aereo di Cavazzo Carnico e l'atra di una colonna di ambulanze.
